The Planetary Health Report Card (PHRC) was adapted for occupational therapy (OT) in 2023 by a team of OT students and an OT lecturer (see names below). This version of the PHRC sought to capture the specialist skillset that OTs bring to the planetary health conversation, skills which affirm a holistic and person-centred approach to care. The OT PHRC was then piloted at the University of East Anglia by a team of OT students (Catherine Potter, Jessica Sparkes and Diya Bhandarkar) and published in April 2024. Both the design and the implementation of this template draw from previous PHRCs, particularly medicine and physiotherapy.

The hope is that future OT students will build on this template to produce increasingly more apt and reflective metrics. By continuing to develop this report card future students should stand in better stead to question the knowledge and skills they are being equipped with. Questions that probe whether healthcare systems provide care not only for current patients but also for patients of future generations.
