In a new addition to the 4th cycle of the Planetary Health Report Card, the first Physiotherapy PHRC was completed this year. Nick Miles, a physiotherapy student at the University of Brighton, completed the report card in collaboration with the Brighton PHRC nursing and medicine teams. The report card, largely based on the medicine and nursing template, incorporates key aspects of institutional planetary health education ideals. New physiotherapy specific metrics, developed by experts in the field of green physiotherapy, encapsulate the vital role that physiotherapist play in healthcare teams of the Anthropocene. Aligning with our aims to develop planetary health education internationally, we hope the addition of the Physiotherapy PHRC will drive interdisciplinary working amongst institutions to empower students in mitigating climate change and ecological destruction. With the release of this pilot report, we hope that many more physiotherapy schools will publish reports in the coming years. If you think your school would benefit, get in touch via our contact page.
